10h:30 - The Dutch Automotive in an international perspective
by Mr. Edwin Bestebreurtje, Partner FIER Automotive.

The Dutch automotive industry is well known for its high tech quality and innovation capacity. With these strengths and qualities a lot of Dutch companies are very successful in the international automotive market.

Within the Dutch automotive industry there are also a lot of hidden treasures which have strong innovations but are not known yet in an international perspective. For the international involved Dutch companies the Dutch Ministry of Economics, Agriculture and Innovations supported trade and innovation missions. The organization of most of these missions is the responsibility of FIER Automotive in cooperation with AutomotiveNL and Nevat.

From 2005 up till 2012 FIER organized missions to regions in Europe (e.g. Romania, Russia, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Austria) and abroad (China, India, Turkey, USA and Canada). Together with AutomotiveNL FIER is also involved in the European Automotive Strategy Network and the European projects which are initiated by this network.

Some highlights of the different international automotive missions and projects will be presented by Edwin Bestebreurtje. Edwin Bestebreurtje is partner of FIER Automotive (from 2005) and currently responsible for international projects and business development. Before Edwin was involved in FIER he was senior consultant at KPMG Business Advisory Services.

11h:00 - Automotive education in the smartest region of the world, TU/e SMART MOBILITY by Dr.Ir. Theo Hofman, Assistant professor, associate editor Int. Journal of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles (IJEHV), Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Technology Group, Technical University Eindhoven (TU/e)

TU/e SMART MOBILITY - Driven by Technology
Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is a research-driven, design-oriented university of technology with a strong international focus. The university was founded in 1956, and has around 7,200 students and 3000 staff. TU/e has defined strategic areas focusing on the societal challenges in Energy, Health and Smart Mobility.

Good mobility is of great importance for individuals, as well as for businesses and the economy. For this reason around 230 researchers from dozens of TU/e research groups are working in the Smart Mobility areas on clean, efficient and intelligent vehicle technology, and on logistics and traffic systems. The aims include reducing emissions and congestion, and increasing safety. Examples of recent developments at TU/e are intelligent cars that communicate with each other to prevent congestion, lighter batteries for electric cars, cleaner and more economical diesel engines, and optimized planning models for goods transport.

As well as research, the TU/e activities in the Automotive field include a Bachelor’s track, a Master’s program and a post-Master’s designer program, the Master’s program in Operations Management and Logistics, and the designer program in Logistics Management Systems.

11h:30 - Brainport Industries; the best high tech open supply chain of the world
by John   Blankendaal, Managing Director Brainport Industries

ASML, Philips Healthcare, FEI and Océ Technologies/Canon are world leaders in their markets. According to market research, most of the suppliers contributing to the success of these OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) are based in the Netherlands.

The Netherlands, and in particular the Brainport region around Eindhoven, are key players in the development, manufacturing and marketing of some of the most advanced, precise and intelligent machines. OEMs competing on the international market for high-mix, low-volume, high-complexity machines have been outsourcing the manufacturing of sub-assemblies and larger non-core submodules to strategic suppliers for quite some time and are now increasingly outsourcing the design and development of the equipment they manufacture as well. What they're doing in fact, is giving suppliers full responsibility for these modules, from design through to manufacturing.

The leading tier-one, tier-two and tier-three high-tech suppliers in the region of Eindhoven decided to give this unique high-tech hub a face: Brainport Industries. Brainport Industries was established so suppliers can join forces to strengthen the professional character and competitive position of the high-tech supply chain.

    Masterclass Marktentreestrategie

    • Marktselectiemodellen

    • Marktonderzoek

    • Merknaamonderzoek

    • Vestigingsplaatsonderzoek

    • Interne factoren

    • Verdedigbaar concurrentievoordeel

    • Positionering

    • Marktsegmentatie

    • Introductiestrategieën

    • Integratiestrategieën

    • Groeistrategieën

    • Generieke concurrentiestrategieën

    • Marktuitdagersstrategieën

    • Greenfield, fusie, overname of strategische alliantie

Deze interactieve Masterclass is specifiek bedoeld voor ondernemers en voor export verantwoordelijke managers die de entree op een buitenlandse markt overwegen of hun exportactiviteiten willen uitbreiden.
